If either wheel begins to slip, due to poor re-surface contact, the Powertrax No-Slip Trac-
on System will immediately transfer more torque to the other wheel, thereby main-
taining opmum tracon and providing beer handling, increased acceleraon and an
improved margin of safety.
Some items of special consideraon:
• Payload - The Powertrax No-Slip Tracon System increases the eecve tracve ability
of the vehicle, but does not increase the load carrying capacity or payload
rang of the vehicle. Be sure to distribute the payload evenly or payload rat-
ing of the vehicle. Be sure to distribute the payload evenly side-to-side with-
out exceeding the vehicle’s rated payload capacity.
Steering - The aect on steering produced by a Powertrax No-Slip Tracon System may
contribute to a degree of “under-steer” when turning under power. Sudden
throle changes during turns will accentuate “under-steer”, especially on
slippery or unstable surfaces. Be sure to maintain cauon and drive carefully
under all condions.
• Tire Chirp - During cornering, the faster outside wheel is freewheeling and the slower
inside wheel is receiving engine power. The vehicle will tend to lean towards
the outside of the turn thereby lessening the eecve vehicle weight on the
inner wheel. Under excessive throle, the inside wheel may “Chirp” on the
pavement if it momentarily loses tracon and spins to catch up with the out-
side wheel to regain tracon. This acon may repeat in the course of a
powered turn if excessive throle is maintained. This condion does not
result from re scung, due to dragging, as with some tracon adding dif-
ferenals. Applying less throle will reduce or eliminate this symptom.
